My Miata is a white 1999 (with black top and interior) that has the
factory sport package, including LSD, Nardi 3-spoke steering wheel, and
power windows (but not ABS brakes). The car's previous owner added Falken
15" tires and rims. Since buying it last year, I've added a Racing Beat
cold air induction system and muffler, a strut brace from a 2002 Miata,
and replaced the existing factory sway bars with a set from Flyin' Miata.
I'm using Mobil One synthetic in my engine and Redline in my transmission
and differential.

Future plans include having Rick at PR Motorsports
install stiffer springs and shocks (which lower the car about 1.5"). Also
considering a Hard Dog rollbar, an aluminium flywheel and larger size
tires (17" Bridgestones?).
Further down the road, I would also like to replace the oil pressure dial
on the dash--which in the '99 functions no better than an idiot
light--with a true pressure gauge. I understand there is a way to do this,
but the job is complicated.
Since getting this wonderful machine, I've been spending a lot of time exploring
winding back-country roads. Most of the cars I've had in my life have been
British iron--Jags, Healeys and MGs--which need lots of fiddling to
keep on the road. And I wouldn't dream of taking one of them on a
cross-country trip without making sure there were some automotive parts
stores along the way. What a delight that the Miata not only has excellent
performance and handling characteristics, but is..SHOCK...also reliable.
